Hwany Farm, South Korea
BLV HORTURION top lighting
“We want to increase our yield of tomatoes by at least 30%. In a test project, we have installed the highly efficient HORTURION fixtures and are very positive to receive good results."
Sun-Hwan Kim, owner Hwany Farm
|Location:||With a crop area of over 7000 m², Hwany Farm is one of the biggest tomato growers in the southern part of South Korea.|
|Challenge:|| To increase the yield substantionally and to have a more stable harvest even throughout the winter.|
|Installation:|| Hwany Farm is currently testing a BLV HPS lighting. The aim of the test is to compare tomato yield and quality under the BLV lighting with their already existing 250 W metal halide lighting. Therefore, the test area has been set up with BLV lighting fixtures, equipped with a BLV power supply and a 1000 W BLV HPS lamp (light output 2100 µmol s-1). |
With the BLV power supply Hwany farm can vary the light intensity between 85 and 160 µmol s-1 m-². Changing the light intensity has no effect on light uniformity.
